The Superquadro family of engines have been held in high esteem by motorcyclists ever since they first roared into our consciousness as part of the 1199 Panigale in 2011. These sophisticated engines were revolutionary at the time, bringing more power, speed, and stability than any engine before it.

Named for its over-sized bore-to-stroke ratio, the Superquadro was, at its time, the most powerful engine in V-twin cylinder history, with 195hp. Its extraordinary performance was, in part, due to the lightweight construction, helping to reduce the weight of the overall vehicle and giving it a longer running period.
Over the years, Ducati has refined this engine, tweaking and testing with different motorbikes, until it evolved into the Superquadro V2 that we all know and love today.
The engine that sits inside the Panigale V2 is the 955cc Superquadro L-twin iteration, complete with single-side swingarm. This arm allows for faster, simpler wheel removal – essential in racing situations, but also useful for daily maintenance. The single side arm is also more aesthetically pleasing than a double-sided arm and allows the muffler to be closer to the centre, helping with balance and control.
The beating heart of the Panigale, the Superquadro features an aluminium monocoque frame with a bore and stroke of 100mm x 60.8mm, contributing to the engine’s distinctive performance characteristics.

This engine is so iconic, that Ducati have built the Panigale Superquadro V2 Final Edition around it – a celebration of the race-winning design. As one of the most intricate and enjoyable parts of any Pocher build, the engine is an important element of any build journey, and now you can honour the Superquadro V2 in your own way.
