About us

The Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway (RH&DR) is a famous 15-inch gauge heritage railway on the Romney Marsh in Kent.

Opened in July 1927, it has been home to a stunning collection of one-third full-size steam and diesel locomotives for almost 100 years.

Known as "Kent's Mainline in Miniature," its 131/2-mile route stretches from the Cinque Port town of Hythe down to the shingle beaches and National Nature Reserve of Dungeness, stopping at the seaside town of Dymchurch and the railway's headquarters, New Romney, along the way.
